(More customer reviews)First off, I'm using CellTech Hardcore Pro along with a combination of 100% whey protein (4 times daily) and NoXplode pre-workout drink. I lift 4 - 5 days a week.
I purchased this on a recommendation of a friend based on his finding that this product doesn't give his muscles the "bloated" look that regular creatine monohydrate gives from absorbing water into the muscle.
I've been using this for a little over 3 weeks now and I can feel/see a difference. It doesn't seem to "thicken" me up as much as regular creatine monohydrate does, but this is what I was looking for. My muscles feel harder and look larger but they don't look as puffy. It also seems to visually enhance my vascularity from the lack of excess water.
I take the blue-raspberry because it's the cheaper of the bunch. What I do is dilute it with a little more water than recommended. I do this before my workout and let it sit until I'm finished. I found that mixing it with a shaker following my workout made it a little foamy but overall did an ok job, but if I mixed it and then let it sit while I lifted, everything got dissolved and it wasn't as sweet or foamy.
Overall, being a creatine product thsi will make you stronger and bigger, but without the drawbacks of excessive water retention. I highly recommend this.
I read one review that said they wanted the water retention to look bigger. If that is solely the case, save your money and just buy cheap 100% pure creatine monohydrate. I use this one:

(More customer reviews)This and MetRX's protein powders are my favorites, though when Amazon has this brand in stock it's less expensive per serving than MetRX. The MetRX foams up a bit more and seems a little thicker (not negatives, in my opinion); the TwinLab comes out very smooth when made in a blender. Both brands taste very good, at least when made with fat free or 1% milk (or at the very least half milk and half water).
I won't detail the nutritional info because it's available in the product description here, but like MetRX I like that this protein powder gets almost all of its calories from protein. Some protein powders have a fair amount of fat and some have A LOT of carbohydrates. Those formulas may be good for competition level bodybuilders who need to have an extremely high caloric intake because they are working out so hard, but I don't really want a protein shake that gives me a meal's worth of carbs and fat in addition to the protein. I'd rather get my carbs and fat from real food.

(More customer reviews)Real Gains has the healthiest and most beneficial formula on the market in my opinion. It is not perfect but the cons are superficial compared to the health benefits.
PROS: Price. This item can be found at around half the price of comparable sugar-laden products with unhealthy formulas.
Protein profile. Contains BOTH whey protein(quickly absorbed by the body) & micellar casein protein(slow absorbtion)for muscle feeding during sleep. Also, whey is ultra filtered and not harsh method of ion exchanged.
Low sugar. By comparison, Pro labs N Large II has 6x the sugar per serving(30g) than Real Gains(5g). No fructose in this product which is easily converted to fat.
52 g of protein and 600 calories per full serving with no fillers.
CONS: Mixability. Despite the label's claim of blender-free ease, I often swallow clumps of formula. I use a cheap shaker, however and a superior mixer may remedy this(perhaps the whisk-ball shaker cup)Mixing 2 half servings instead of 1 full serv. will help.
Taste. Doesn't taste bad it's just that the choco ice cream flavor isn't chocolaty at all. It's almost a vanilla. I have solved this problem by swapping white milk with a low fat chocolate milk like over the moon brand(very chocolaty) or a choco soy milk like Silk.
As stated, the cons are outweighed by the benefits which are more than I have even stated here. Throw in superior potassium content, amino acid profile and inulin (a prebiotic)for absorbtion and digestion and you have a very reasonably priced superior product.
**MUST CLARIFY** Poor mixability when mixed with MILK. Also, the whisk ball shaker cup helps greatly.

Now, even after turning it up to 60C (140 F) I feel warm, but I do not produce a body cleansing sweat. To me this is a big drawback to buying this product.

(More customer reviews)I got some of this from GNC in a pre-pack with Intra-vol and Anabolic Halo. I always switch up the pre-workout suplement so my body won't acclimate to it and thus I no longer works. I took this on an relatively empty stomach (only 2 caps) with 2 caps of Gackic. I went to the gym to do a Deadlift/Posterior chain out and after the first two sets, I thought I was going to die. I was getting this jittery seasickness thing in my stomach. I was all light headed and dizzy and my heart rate would not slow down, even after a 2-3 minute rest. I've never been stoned in my life, but this is must be what it feels like. At this point, it wasn't about Pump anymore, My workout was about survival. I pressed onward and finished my Deadlift sets even though the rest periods were longer and longer. Combined with the Gackic I had this full-body cold feeling and my legs shook when I tried to do barbell shrugs later on. So I just hit up my abs and went and sat in the locker room to recover and eat my banana with almond butter. It took about 10 minutes but the high went away.... this was after taking just 2 caplets... what if I'd taken the recommended dose of 6? The next week, I tried it on an full stomach and I didn't feel anything much more than a caffeine high. I had a similar episode roughly two or three more times. that was about 8 months ago. now I can swallow three preworkout about 1 hour after lunch and get a good focused mind with good stamina and a healthy dose of caffeine.
I take this sparingly still because of the caffeine (Yohimbe?) tachycardia issue. I got it in the summer of 2010 and I still have half the bottle or so left (Jan 2011). I'll stack it with NO Maxertion caplets from GNC because they have no caffeine in them and I get a monster pump using this method on my volume days. And that's when I'm not taking Jack3d or Hemo Rage or the NO Xplode. This is the stuff that I wouldn't give to my friend without a liability release form singed. And my friends that used to do drugs and have been miraculously delivered from that lifestyle, I wouldn't loan it to them either... they'd probably like it too much and fall back into their old ways.
WARNINGS: The caffeine will keep you up all night too, so look out...don't take it after 6pm or at least not 3-6 of them. Store them in the bottle it comes with. If you carry them in a pill carrier for more that a couple of days, any moisture they encounter will eventually cause them to fall apart... they're supposed to fall apart and powder up inside of you to distribute better. Start off slow with one or two caps and see how you do ... if you are sensitive to caffeine, forget it. Stick with a straight arginine/carnosine igniter supplement or just drink a Zero-Carb Rockstar before you work out. Because you'll probably feel like you're going to die even though you probably won't.
INTERESTING: Do you notice that people who say "I don't like the way those things make me feel" are the same ones that complain that a supp isn't working because they don't "Feel anything".????

N-Large 2 Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a "hard gainer" and putting on weight, any weight, be it muscle or even fat, is tough for me. The upshot to that is my weight is pretty stable. When I was in my late teens I went into the hospital for a 30% spontaneous nemothorax (collapsed lung) and had to have an operation. Anyway, my mother was concerned I'd loose a lot of weight, but I hardly lost any, nor did I gain any weight. After my operation my mother asked the doctor what she could give me. He said I just have "a very efficient matabolism", but suggested Ensure as it had a lot of calories. Well, I drank it and didn't gain any weight!
I'm in my 30s and am 5'6" and *used* to weigh in at 120 lbs. Then I got really serious about gaining weight and adding more muscle to my frame. Following the advice of a couple of online bodybuilding gurus (Will Brink being one of them) I increased my daily food intake and supplemented that with a quality protein weight gainer, creatine and workout regimen (using a Bowflex XTL with squat attachment) and I'm gaining muscle. After a few months I now weigh 135 and counting. I'm gaining about 5 pounds a month. My goal is to reach about 150-160 and then trim down to about 145-150. It's important to understand that you will gain some fat when you are trying to gain muscle mass. It's inevitable.
I've tried GNC's Pro Performance Weight Gainer 2200 and MLO's Mus-L Blast 2000. While I liked the taste of GNC the best (chocolate) it's overpriced at roughly $35 for 6 lbs. Mus-L Blast was a relatively good value when I bought it at Rite Aid, but I didn't like the taste (chocolate) at all. Another thing about these two weight gainers I didn't like was the fact that a lot of the calories you're getting in these weight gainers are in the form of sugars...a lot of sugars, especially with GNC. I was feeling tired during the day and couldn't understand why. Excerising should make one energetic, but I always felt drowsy.
Because I was still doing research on weight gainers I was willing to try different ones after my supply of the current one ran out. I was shopping for another weight gainer even before I ran out of the Mus-L Blast because I didn't like the taste at all. I'd drink it really fast because of this. Then I read about Pro Lab's N Large 2 and liked the fact that it doesn't have a lot of sugars and contains more protein per serving. ... bucket it's not cheap, but it is a decent value, especially when compared to the others I've tried. The taste is not as good as GNC's, but is much better than MLO's.
You can find N Large 2 cheaper online than at The Vitamin Shoppe, but if you have a local Vitamin Shoppe near you it evens out when you factor in shipping. Luckily I do have a Vitamin Shoppe near me within a couple miles. The online prices are the same as the local store.
I may still try other protein weight gainers, but for now I'm on my second bucket of N Large 2 because I really like it and it's a good value. The other thing I like about Pro Lab is that they are straight forward in the marketing of their products. There are some weight gainers that tout 4000 calories per serving, but when you read the back label you have to mix it with a gallon of whole milk! Who's going to drink a gallon of milk in one sitting! Even GNC's marketing is suspect. They say 2200 calories per serving, but that's a massive serving too...something like 7 massive scoops of powder mixed with 2 or 4 cups of milk I think. When I used GNC I only mixed one scoop of powder with one cup of milk twice a day. Currently I'm mixing 2 scoops of N Large 2 with 1 cup of 2% milk twice a day with good results.

I don't need to lose weight and found that it made me feel jittery even when taking one pill a day. There is enough caffeine in it for the manufacturer to suggest you limit other caffeine intake. But there is so much good stuff in it; I had to do some research on the major ingredients. Below is what I discovered and everything sounds healthy and productive for losing weight in a healthy manner. I hope it is helpful.
Thiamine: Plays an important role in helping the body metabolize carbohydrates and fat to produce energy. It is essential for normal growth and development and helps to maintain proper functioning of the heart and the nervous and digestive systems. Thiamine is water-soluble and cannot be stored in the body; however, once absorbed, the vitamin is concentrated in muscle tissue.
Niacin: When taken in large doses, blocks the breakdown of fats in adipose tissue, thus altering blood lipid levels. Niacin is used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia because it reduces very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), a precursor of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or "bad" cholesterol.
Pyridoxine: Assists in the balancing of sodium and potassium as well as promoting red blood cell production. It is linked to cardiovascular health by decreasing the formation of homocysteine. It has been suggested that Pyridoxine might help children with learning difficulties, and may also prevent dandruff, eczema, and psoriasis. (More customer reviews)I ordered the chocolate flavor, with the expectation that it would taste similar if not identical to BSN's "Chocolate Milkshake" flavor of Syntha-6 in a tub. Unfortunately, the taste isn't close. I would say it has a peppermint flavor to it, which after a hard workout is not what I want to be guzzling down. The protein is there, the blend of BCAA's is there, but the flavor is a huge miss. This RTD protein product is tolerable, but it's cheaper and tastes better to have a shaker cup and some normal Syntha-6 on hand. If you want to give this product a try, I would recommend going to a nutrition store and trying one first before committing to buy a 12 pack.
