(More customer reviews)I bought the:Luna Bar, Variety Pack, 24-Count (8-Nutz Over Chocolate, 8-Caramel Nut Brownie, 8-Peanut Butter Cookie)which I thought to be the best deal at the time. I found all three flavors to be yummy,satisfying and they are especially chock full of nutrients for women's needs. I'll get to those, but I have to say first, that it's not just women who will love these - I know this for a fact, as they were disappearing at an alarming rate(faster then I could eat them by myself) and I am the only female in my household! That is really saying something, because if I deem a product to be healthy, everyone in my house avoids it.
I am always looking for snack/protein bars that are not only tasty and satisfying, but finding some that the ingredients won't give you a heart attack and at a decent price is hard to find. I spend more time reading the labels in the "Sports and Nutritional" food section in my market(and here at Amazon as well) then anywhere else. Most may meet some of my requirements, but fall short in others, some are just really bad even though they sound "good"(you may have seen some of my other reviews of these). Luna Bars are from "Clif" which I have always thought were among my top picks. The only bars I think are in the "healthier" catagory would be those that are 100% organic; usually those cost double or triple per bar as these Luna Bars come to - and the deal here at this time is even better than my local market.
So Luna Bars are made with 70% orgainc ingredients.Per serving - they are also high in protein 8 - 9 gms per bar, are 180 calories per bar,have 6 gm of fat(50 of the calories from fat),2.5 sat fat ZERO trans fat, and ZERO cholesterol in all three flavors.The other nutritional info varies a little on each. The Brownie has 110 mg sodium,27g carbs(12 of sugar carbs);Nutz over Chocolate - 190 mg sodium,25g carbs(11 sugar);P-nut Buuter - 160mg sodium,25g carbs(12 sugar).
The sugar mostly coming from Orgainic Evaporated Cane Juice and Orgainc Brown Rice Syrup. They are also a good source of Vit A,Vit C,Calicium, Vit E,Folic acid,Vitamins D and B, and much more - I did not list all, but i will keep the box panel that has all the nutrional info for a while(alas, that's all thats left of my last order), if there is something in particular you need info on,please leave me a comment and I will reply as soon as possible. No Hydrogenated Oils!
Put some in an ice chest on long drives or a good between meal snack that will tie you over till dinner time. I'll be ordering another box - when they arrive, I will put them in the vegetable compartment of my fridge, they should be pretty safe there -and they are really good cold!

(More customer reviews)I really like the taste of the Pria 110 Plus Bar Chocolate Peanut Crunch 15 bars, and they provide many nutrients for only 110 calories.
My only complaint is that the chocolate coating flakes off in many little pieces. I've gotten it all over my desk and my pants (until I learned to eat a bar over a paper towel or plate). Since the advantage of these bars is that they can be eaten on the go, the flaking is a major inconvenience. I have tried refrigerating the bars, but that makes them too hard to eat without raising concerns about chipping a tooth.

I use them during adventure racing, mountain climbing, and kayaking. They are excellent compared to all the other "power" type bars that are available. These are not "healthy snacks" for couch potatoes to smack on while watching TV. Do that and it'll end up on your butt! Used for the intended purpose, and when purchased fresh, these deserve the 5-star rating I've given.
I buy the variety pack at my local [...], and the price is lower than Amazon's gold box special price. The other advantage of purchasing food in a brick and mortar store is that you can verify the product expiration date. Several reviewers complained about this product being stale and/or out-dated. I've purchased other food products from Amazon and have also noted they are pushing close to the expiration date, meaning that one needs to consume a case of food within a week or two before it expires. Buyer beware.

(More customer reviews)What a delicious treat! With only 19g of fat and 30g of carbohydrates, Oh Yeah bars provide a whopping 27g of protein. At 380 calories, it's a good meal replacement or a well-earned snack for those days on which you're particularly active or you've worked out extra hard at the gym. As one might expect from a high quality food product these days, there are no trans fats at all. With high quality healthy snacks like this available in the marketplace, it's tough to imagine why any thinking person would ever choose a regular candy bar!
If I had my druthers, I'd like to see a little less sugar (there's 8g in this particular flavour) and a wee bit more protein but I expect the sugar is at least in part responsible for the fabulous taste. I suppose one can't have everything.
The only problem I can see with this bar is it tastes so darn good that I have a tendency to snarf it down rather than chewing daintily and savouring it. Sigh!

(More customer reviews)Over the last 3 years I have sampled every major protein bar offering and I have to say these Power Crunch bars are my favorite. It has a very sugary, chocolate taste that is similar to real chocolate wafer cookies. Power Crunch does not have the thick, hard protein "paste" you'll find in most bars. The chocolate wafer style is soft and almost disintegrates in your mouth - quite a contrast from most protein bar offerings. I've eaten probably a dozen a week for the last six weeks and I still cannot get enough of these bars.
In all fairness most protein bars have 30+ grams of protein - more than double the amount than the 14 grams in Power Crunch. So personally I consider Power Crunch to be a very healthy high protein candy bar rather than protein bar. But after tasting Power Crunch, it'll be a long time before I reach for another Detour, MET-Rx, Oh Yeah, South Beach, or any other bar.

(More customer reviews)As a weight loss coach I'm always on the lookout for products that can have a positive effect. I'll be honest. I snickered at the plug for this on the Biggest Loser and said it's obviously just regular whey powder rebranded with their name to sell. (I tend to snicker at many things promoted heavily on tv...this is normal for me.)
Okay, I'll own that I was wrong...I never even LOOKED at this product for months but someone in one of my weight loss groups mentioned it so I did.
First, it has less than half the calories for the same serving as most whey powders. Maybe all whey powders. I spend a LONG time in stores comparing stats and this beat out the lowest ones I used to use by FAR in it's nutritionals.
Second it uses Stevia or Agave as a sweetener depending upon the flavor. it does NOT use sucralose. Stevia and agave are natural and is waaaaay sweeter than sugar so you only need a tiny bit of it in comparison to sugar. (This and Agave are the only low calorie sweeteners that health and all natural markets sell) I refuse to use artificial sweeteners now because I've read too much about them but I never leave the house without my stevia packets.
Third...it just works. I've used whey powder for years to help with my fitness and weight loss plan. It not only keeps you full, but it helps muscles after a workout. Plus fiber has been shown to assist weight loss which is why it's a huge part of the Weight Watchers plan...and so many other things I could make this review very long by adding. It's just uber good stuff.
I personally like to make a smoothie with this powder and add in some fruit. I love the taste of this smoothie. I also just found out they have blueberry flavor and I'm psyched...I've never seen that in a whey powder. The vanilla is great because it gives you a plain base to either utilize on it's own or with other flavorings or fruit. After a mega workout I'll even add a bit of prepared oatmeal and a few teaspoons of all natural peanut butter for a mega filling mega protein boost...but that adds more calories obviously.
Also, it's hard for some of the people I work with in losing weight to get their water servings in each day. I suggest adding a little but of the whey protein to the water for both flavor, vitamins, protein etc. It's a win/win all around. I do this as well. Cheaper and healthier than the flavored packets for water and this contains no artificial sweeteners and is packed with goodies for your body so it's a better alternative to flavoring your water or milk if those servings are hard for you to do.
This helps me in between meals in a HEALTHY way that assists my weight goals rather than sidetracking them...

(More customer reviews)I'm a technology guy who sits at a desk all day fixing problems and creating solutions. I get in early and leave whenever I can escape. There's no time for lunch almost ever. Well, I also happen to be an avid weight lifter and I need protein to maintain muscle mass. Bars are the solution. I eat at least a couple of these a day and can continue working or driving or whatever while I'm eating. I've tried a lot of bars and here's why I chose these in the end:
Positives:
- Good protein content level (not too much, not too little)
- Great array of vitamins to keep you healthy (I rarely get sick)
- A small amount of fiber, but not the kind that will leave you in a
meeting with executives squirming around from the gas. Some bars
have no fiber, while others pack it with the kind that kills your
gut
- A bit of sugar to pick you up mid-day if you're low (way better
than sucking down a soda)
- Drinks are messy, these easy and clean
- No sugar alcohols or soy protein (huge gas causers)
- Cheaper and way fewer calories than going out to lunch every day
- Faster and easier than making lunch every day
Negatives:
- Some people would list the sugar/high fructose corn syrup as a
negative, but those people must not have very high metabolisms
because these have less sugar in them than a cup of 100% fruit
juice and I find that I burn it off just typing all day. Otherwise,
I haven't found any negatives.

The price was right though, so I took a gamble in March 2006 and received a box that had expired in December 2005. Amazon gladly processed my return and replaced them with another box...from December 2005. Your best bet, unless you relish gnawing through stale, rock-hard nougat, is to procure them elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)Ok, so I'm a quant-dork and actually track my workout programs in a spreadsheet. This includes things like my daily body weight, body fat and what I eat all day (along with the usual list of workouts and stuff like that). During a recent training program I ate these builder bars after each workout with a glass of Muscle Milk. My body fat slowly decreased while my weight stayed the same or even increased. I wasn't looking to bulk up but build more muscle since in the past I had seen my total body weight drop too much during workout programs indicating I was losing muscle mass. That didn't seem to happen when I used these protein bars. In addition I also saw good improvements in the amount of weight I was lifting.
These protein bars are surprisingly good. True, protein bars are never really great but these are really good and almost get to the point of me thinking I want one even when I haven't worked out.
Buy these if if you are on a workout program where you want to add or maintain muscle weight.
Don't buy these if you aren't using them in conjunction with a workout program since they are high in protein and calories so you need to do something so your body makes proper use of the contents of these bars.
Note: There is an error on the detail page above for these bars....they don't have 2-3g of protein each but rather 23g each.

Just one-half a bar is very satisfying for me. I first found them at at my local Super Supplements store, but they recently stopped carrying them. Luckily I checked out Amazon.com and found them there for about the same price.
