(More customer reviews)I was introduced to this when taking physical therapy for a ruptured disk. It works great but the smell is strong. I use it at home so that I don't clear the sinuses of everyone at work. In physical therapy they use it under a hot wrap. It feels like it loosens my back and hip muscles. It says it is non staining but I did have trouble getting it out of a shirt after PT. If you don't mind the smell and you want DEEP penetrating relief then this is what you want to get.
I also purchased BioFreeze to use during the day. It doesn't give as deep relief but it does help the pain. It also doesn't have the oil base and the smell dissipates pretty quickly.
It is a trade off for me. Biofreeze is what I use the most during the day because I don't have to worry about it touching my clothes. I also don't have to worry about the smell bothering people around me. Tiger Balm is what I use at the end of the day or a hard work out for deep relief.
