(More customer reviews)I also purchased this machine using Costco online for $399.00/free shipping in early Jan. There are a few reasons for purchasing this machine in particular. One, the price is outstanding. Two, a much larger base for standing, and three, the adjustable weights. There are three different mhz levels, 25, 30 and 35. I've been pretty consistently using the 30mhz setting and find this very adequate for me. I've been using it every other day since purchase and find that my clothes are already looser and my muscles don't hurt as much and I have much more flexibility at my core. The larger base on this machine allows me to sit on it and stretch out my spine and legs with great ease. Sit ups are much more comfortable on this base as well. I am a massage therapist working with my chiropractor husband in our practice and we've both been very actively researching the benefits of Vibrational therapy (wave therapy) in our fields. Some of these machines range in the $20,000+ category without much difference than this $399.00 machine. We purchased this for our home to test it out before putting one in our practice. So far, as I've stated I have seen tremendous results. I am especially excited about my wrists and hands as well as my shoulders not hurting since I've been using the Proform Activator. My husband has a slight right knee issue and it has been very nicely resolved since using this machine. I would also like to mention that although we get much information sent to us on many vibrational products and their uses the most helpful information I found was on youtube. I just typed in Proform Activator and found some information and then typed in vibrational excercise, machine, etc.. and tons of very relevant information popped up. If you are researching these machines youtube is a good place to start. I will be purchasing another Proform Activator for my practice since I can't possibly give up the one I have now. It is stable and well built with a large enough base for almost all of our patients to get benefit from. The three speeds is a big plus and I forgot to mention that as well as the three speed settings there are also three different time settings...30, 45 and 60 second intervals. Very nice indeed.

(More customer reviews)When I first ordered this item, I only half-heartedly believed it would do all the things that were being claimed it would do; however, I decided that for the price, if it only did half of what it claimed, I'd be happy with my purchase.
I have now had the Osci Stadium for a full month and I can't believe how much it has helped me with my regular exercise program. I use many types of equipment for my daily workouts, and whole body vibration will be permanently incorporated into my routines as the most fun. It has helped my posture, balance, and flexibility; but most of all, it has increased my enthusiasm and feeling of well being.
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I'm now not sure if this is the linear type machine or not - so very much contradictory information out there! I guess (as far as my current level of understanding goes), this machine does half the motion of some that people claim to be best - that is it pivots, but does not additionally vibrate. So if I were to buy one again, I'd find one that pivots AND vibrates. These cheap China-Vibe units don't have much in the way of documentation on these listing pages, so it seems hit and miss!
Also, I'm starting to think that my regimen of 40-60 minutes per day needs to be cut back to 20 minutes twice a day or even less to play it safe, and maybe a longer session is OK if I rest for two days. You can really kick your a$ on this machine without even breaking a sweat.
But I can tell you, in all my life, I've never been cut. This machine (and similar ones no doubt) has cut my muscles. It's weird to look like a fitness goddess while being a life-long couch potato all my life (I hike with poles too which is the other 1/2 my workout so don't get me wrong here).
Lastly, who knows how long this unit will last? If it lasts a year, it will be worth it. But If I ever get a straight answer from someone who: 1) isn't a contributing member of the peanut gallery, and 2) someone who isn't a dealer for a competing product, I'd probably buy another machine - one that vibrates as well as pivot.
End edit--I ordered this primarily for my mom, but I wanted to use it too. She's used it a grand total of one time, but I on the other hand, have really taken a liking to this whole body vibration thing. I use it practically every single day for 40-60 minutes per session.
But as the other reviewers have stated, this is a linear-type machine, so it's very high impact. If I'd have know more about this, I would have bought the type that moves in 3 dimensions as well as pivots. There was one sold here (that seems to be gone now), that one reviewer stated it was such a mechanism, but there was scant info about it - that I didn't want to plunk down 3 more bills for another machine I'd need to replace.
Lastly, I got this unit with the hand rails for my mom's stability, but since she never uses it, I took them off altogether and just have the control mechanism sitting on a TV tray near the unit. I can get a much better range of positions by taking off those worthless rails. I might upload a pic of what that looks like.
