First off, it is clear - which is nice as I can't stomach the milky or powdery kinds of drinks.
Second, it has 40 grams of protein - this is relatively high compared to other protein drinks out there.
Third, it has no carbs.
Fourth, it doesn't have too many calories - just enough to give you energy, but not enough to make you worry about taking a high-calorie supplement.
Fifth, it does not need to be refrigerated during storage.
The biggest criticism seems to be the taste. It's not great, but you get used to it. Besides, I have never found another protein drink out there with all four pros (see above) that tastes great. If you find it, let me know. But until them I'm sticking with isopure.

In other words this powder is very low fat and low carb yet it still tastes very good. I like both the vanilla and chocolate flavors and alternate between them so I'm not drinking the same thing post-workout every day.

(More customer reviews)First time I tried this, I was really skeptical, but I was positively surprised. The flavor of rocky road pro-complex is absolutely incredible in my opinion. It tasted chocolately but with a really NICE aftertaste. As for the ingredients, it includes egg protein, which makes this protein have a slightly better amino acid profile than regular whey, although in my opinion, the difference is quite minimal. The downside is that this costs much more money than regular 100% whey.
Still, if you feel like you want to try something new, and hopefully something that tastes better than your regular whey, I would actually recommend that you give this a shot.

(More customer reviews)Almost any company can produce decent, good-tasting, cheap whey, but doing the same for casein is a trickier proposition. ON has done a solid job with this casein. Mixing it with low-fat or nonfat milk makes for a nice, creamy shake.
A couple of tips: don't bother trying to mix this with a fork or a shaker bottle. You'll get clumps and you'll hate it. Casein demands a blender.
Tip II: Casein has always been the "overnight" protein because of its slower digestion rate than whey, but recent scientific evidence suggests that combining casein with whey in your post-workout shake gives better results than whey alone. Heck, mix the two in all your shakes, except the pre-workout shake, where you'll want just the quick-hitting whey.

This mandarin orange stuff tasted horrible to me, not sure if I got a bad batch or what but it was awful. The fruit punch is still good however, and seemed to be effective in terms of gaining muscle mass and improving muscle recovery though it needs some time to kick in. I can't comment on the quality of this mandarin orange variety, I'd assume its just as good but the flavor is terrible.

The caloric makeup can be adjusted to suit your needs. It has no artificials in it. It contains an excellent spectrum of good food based nutrients.
In my opinion this is one of the best gainers on the market when all factors are considered. (Price per serving, quality of ingredients, taste, versatility, and nutrient ratio.)

Noxipro Review

Pros:
-Gives me energy and motivation to get to the gym
-Able to push myself a little harder with the extra energy
-Small scoop so you don't have to drink a lot, like with NO Xplode (usually just put it in with 1/2 a bottle of water)
-Has creatine so I don't have to take a 2nd supplement for that
-Doesn't make me jittery
Cons:
-On several occasions, the back of my head has hurt really bad the day after taking noxipro (I never get headaches)
-Not every time but sometimes, several hours after taking noxipro, I feel...different. I'm pretty edgy and it's almost a slight depression...
-My sleep is not as deep, granted I take this supplement at 5pm and maybe its not out of my system or something when I go to sleep at 10pm, but I drink plenty of water before and after to flush it out.
-There's no amounts of the ingredients listed, just says it's a special 'blend'
I've read that one of the components in noxipro, 1-3 dimethylamylamine, is the reason for all the side effects I'm experiencing so it may just be from person to person. I'm stuck having to go back to NO Xplode though...Hope this review helps.

Optimum Nutrition Instantized BCAA 5000mg Powder Review

(More customer reviews)I started adding BCAA powder along with ON L-Glutamine powder to my twice-daily protein shakes. ON makes a great line of products, and the BCAA product doesn't disappoint. I'm not going to tell you here that I've made instantaneous or "huge gains" and enjoy "all day pumps." The boost is subtle, but it's there. Over the several months that I've been consistently using these products, I have noticed increases in my in-gym endurance and strength, particularly when it's a long (an hour or more) workout doing 5 to 7 sets for the body part(s)targeted for the workout, with medium number reps (10 - 15)in each set. I'm able to stay longer and work harder. This is important to me, because I usually don't hit the gym until 7:00 at night after a full day's work. I can't attribute the benefit exclusively to BCAA's, specifically, but the combination of the two supps seems to help recovery, particularly when I've given it 150% which is most of the time (hey, life is short). I use other supps, BSN NO-Xplode and CellMass, and still do, so my impression of the benefits of BCAA's is admittedly unscientific. However, I'm a hard-gainer type, so I'm in the habit of paying close attention to my body to tell if something's working or not. For now, the vote is thumbs up on BCAA's, and I'll continue to use the product.
The BCAA powder is white, tasteless and very fine, You don't get any grittiness or funky after-taste, even if you mix it with plain water. Adding extra BCAA's to other supps that impact the basic building blocks of muscle seems logical and is something I recommend people at least try. I purchased my latest supply through Amazon from All Star Health and the service and price (even with shipping) were excellent.
I will add that despite its fineness and easy-dissolving in water, or mixing in a shake (I use an electric blender or a blender-bottle shakerBlenderBottle 28-Ounce with BlenderBall, Blue, trying to stir in a teaspoon of the powder to a pre-packaged shake (for example Myoplex or Muscle Milk which don't have BCAA's as part of their ingredients - [I'm going from memory on Muscle Milk; EAS does not list BCAA's as ingredients in the Myoplex 42gr. protein shake]) or cold milk that you've just taken out of the fridge, is not a good idea. With a cold, thick liquid (like a Myoplex shake, you're apt to leave most of the powder stuck to the spoon. If you want to "hot rod" one of these pre-made drinks and you're at home, dissolve the powder in a little bit of warm - i.e., room temp or a little warmer - not hot/boiling - water and then stir it into immediately the shake. Same goes for adding L-Glutamine powder. It just needs to dissolve, not "cook."
Addendum: 4/1/2010 - EAS "100% Whey Protein" and Optimum Nutrition's "Gold Standard" whey protein powder products both list BCAA's as part of their ingredients. I am currently "test driving" Gaspari Nutrition's Myofusion protein powder product. The Gaspari Myofusion product does NOT list BCAA's as part of its ingredients. Accordingly, I am adding BCAA's to "hot rod" it. And I don't pre-dissolve it - just spoon it right into the blender.

Given those three, it's really hard for me to complain about the taste. Does it taste like a Snickers bar? No. Does it taste bad? Absolutely not.
If you're comparing the taste of these bars to high calorie protein bars with a lot of sugar and saturated fat, I suppose these don't taste as good, but if you're shopping for protein bars, most likely you'll be better served by something with the nutritional content of Optimum Nutrition's bars. These protein bars are for the person who wants to add extra protein to their diet with a minimal amount of additional calories. If you are looking for a bar with maximum calories to support rapid weight gain, these probably are not the best bar for you.
Flavor comments:
I've tried chocolate peanut butter, chocolate truffle, and toasted coconut, and I found all pleasant, but in order, I found the coconut the best (if you like coconut), followed by peanut butter, and then the chocolate truffle. I will order all of them again, but find myself eating more of the first two than the last.
Results:
Using these bars (1-2 per day) in combination with Optimum Nutrition's 100% whey protein and a fairly rigorous exercise routine (P90x for those of you familiar with it), I've put on about 10 lbs of muscle in 6 months and completely changed the look of my body (shred a lot of fat and revealed the six-pack I'd been seeking my whole life). Obviously the exercise is more important than the protein bars I've been eating, but I find these bars make for an excellent between meal snack to keep my metabolism burning all day long. I keep a stock of these in the cupboard at all times and highly recommend them.

(More customer reviews)I'll make this to the point, the product I thought I was buying was Ultra Peptide 1.0, considering it's the one shown here on the website. Not only did my order arrive a week late, they in fact sent me the wrong order! They sent me Ultra Peptide 2.0 instead. It doesn't sound like a huge deal, but there is a vast difference in the ingredient profiles between the two. I called up DAB Nutrition and they claimed they didn't have any Ultra Peptide 1.0 in their warehouse and that they needed to change the picture on the website, because they only had Ultra Peptide 2.0 in stock. This was about a month ago and the picture on the website remains the same lol. My point exactly. Like I said before this is a great product just a bad retailer who sold me it. I will no longer be conducting business with DAB Nutrition. I'll stick to my original retailer who has always been reliable for me with $5 flat free shipping and my order arrives in 2 business days from the time it's shipped out. They also have cheaper prices by the way. Hope this helped any future customers out!
