It has your BCAA's and your Creatine (Pyruvate I think ? )..and some other stuff... so all you do is keep watering down the solution, to have a constant supply for your whole workout..and a scoop after...doesnt taste too bad, lasted about 4 weeks since I didnt take it on rest days (The weekend)...Ive gotten bigger, but I used this during a new program and some other supplements...so cant say if its this.
In summation, makes it easier to get your BCAAs (they call them AARM - Amino acid blend) and Creatine (Called Crea-Charge)...didnt notice anything about Heat Shock aminos...

(More customer reviews)This stuff pumps you up hardcore. About 5-10 min after taking it my head gets all tingly, my heart rate increases, and my muscles start to swell up. There is 300mg of caffeine among other ingredients, so be prepared to stay awake for a while after taking this. It's great for hitting the gym hard and lifting heavy. I would not take this for a cardio workout. No side effects other than a little shakiness on an empty stomach.

I am a lean muscle sort of "builder." I have been strength training for a couple years now, and have tried numerous supplements and products. So, "bulking up" isn't my interest, though those reading this review might be precisely into that.
However, I DID use this product (down to the last ounce) and have a few things to say about it.
Some "obvious positives" aren't exactly positive when you take everything into context. The creatine in CytoGainer is NOT the highest quality (try ethyl ester), and is not easily absorbed in the system. It may cause bloating, which is one of the reasons why some people might think that they have gained "weight." It is water weight, not muscle weight.
Also, each serving is so high calorie, it could be an entire dinner! Every informed builder knows that decreasing body fat percentage is what "brings out" the muscle - overloading the CytoGainer if you're not cautious can obscure the lean muscle you already have.
The recommended serving size is so high in empty, complex carbohydrates. It is true that carbohydrates help your body absorb your protein more readily... but any decent protein drink will have pre-digested enzymes, so you'll absorb the proteins without feeling gassy or bloated, and without the need of loads of carbs. 54 grams of protein in one serving can be a little excessive anyway, depending on your build and your strength training goals.
And, what I find so curious is that the information on the label of CytoSport's Muscle Milk talks about the carbs you don't need, and how the fats in it actually help build muscle... and then you have the label of CytoGainer telling you the opposite... so which is it, CytoSport?
You're better off having a solid multi-source protein drink with nice slow-digesting carbs like potatoes or oatmeal. You'll get the same results, but in a much healthier, more cost-effective manner.

I only take half of a packet, as that's plenty. For me, taking a full packet is a waste, as it just makes me more jittery and somewhat uncomfortable. With a half packet, it still provides a big jolt, increases heart rate, makes my skin feel warm and tingly, and provides enough energy to easily be able to get through an intense 70 minute workout. Also, the amount of weight I can lift, and my number of reps is noticeably increased while on this stuff.
